In this ever expanding and ever progressing technological boom, IIMAT Diploma in Information technology aims to educate students on the concepts of Information technology, in particular Web Development, Database and Operating System, Programming Language (C++ and JavaScript) and Networking.   We have also enhanced our syllabus with the addition of Python programming as a subject.  The course will introduce skills and concepts related to the design, development, and deployment of Computer Applications and Information Technology.   You will be equipped with the knowledge to better understand the technology behind many of today’s advancements and gain the skills for a starting point to be a sought-after computing professional.  Upon completion of this program,you will be equipped with the knowledge and technical capabilities sought after by employers in the IT industry. 

This program duration is 2 and a half years and it provides industrial training for 4 consecutive months which exposes students to the IT industry.  This program has been fully accredited by Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).  Furthermore, IIMAT has collaborated with international University of Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) to provide students with the opportunity to pursue a degree program there.  IIMAT students will be entitled to an exemption for a minimum of 24 credits with IUKL degree program in IT.

Entry Requirement :

  • SPM/SPMV with at least a credit in 3 subjects, inclusive of Mathematics;
  • APEL ‘A’ – above 20 years old;
  • Certificate (Level 3 MQF) in relevant field at least CGPA 2.0 & a credit in Mathematics at SPM Level/its equivalent;
  • UEC with at least B grade in three (3) subjects including Mathematics;
  • O-Level with at least C grade in three (3) subjects including Mathematics;
  • SKM (Level 3 MQF) in relevant field & SPM with a credit in Mathematics/its equivalent;
  • STPM/equivalent with at least a grade C (GP 2.0) in one (1) subject & a credit in Mathematics at SPM Level/its equivalent;
  • STAM (Maqbul rank)& a credit in Mathematics at SPM Level/its equivalent;

Diploma in Marine Industrial Technology

Marine Industrial Technology is the forefront of humanity’s progress as it addresses many international challenges: transportation, food resources and energy production.  IIMAT’s Diploma in Marine Industrial Technology is a 2.6-year programme which enables students to understand the major technical and theoretical aspects of ship and port operations.  The Diploma in Marine Industrial Technology program is aimed to equip the students with the knowledge and information of the concepts and practices used in the Marine industry.  This course will equip you with the technical skills and hands on experience which employers demand.   This course also provides highly competent personnel for the global marine employment market.  The students also will be exposing to the real-life situation in the marine industry through practical training at the end of the semester.  Learn practical skills such as sailing, QA/QC inspections, ship maintenance which is complimented by theoretical knowledge like Ship/Project Planning and Marine Technology Systems. 

Diploma in Marine Industrial Technology program in IIMAT is fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).  For further development in experiential education, IIMAT also collaborate with the trainers which include the Basic Training (BT), Basic Training Oil Chemical Tanker (BTOCT), Security Awareness (SA) and Designated Security Duties (DSD) certification approved by the Marine Department of Malaysia on behalf of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and United Nations (UN) as additional option for students.

Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health

“Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance and Regulations” were enacted to emphasize the share of responsibilities between employers and employees in achieving occupational health and safety in the workplace.  It is also a multidisciplinary profession examining the technical and social aspects of work with applications in most industries and commerce.

Qualified OSH professionals are always in demand.  These are the professionals who ensure the safety and wellbeing of people in the workplace.  This program is designed to develop professional knowledge in occupational health and safety related to daily working environments.  It is also aims to provide high quality training for practitioners who desire to reinforce occupational safety and health knowledge and skills, and those who intend pursue a qualifications registered Safety Officers.

The course focuses on the science and technology of risk management and covers topics in key areas of occupational safety and health legislations, safety technology, common hazards and relevant control measures, principles of safety management and applications, safety inspection skills, accident investigation, and training.   Students will learn how to apply a risk management model to hazards in the workplace, allowing them to recognize the context, evaluate the risk, and generate control solutions.  You will earn to apply these concepts in a range of contexts, allowing you to develop confidence and proficiency in your professional OHS and occupational hygiene practice.
