Malaysian Skills Certificate (Sijl Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM)) in Food Preparation and Production Program (Level 2 & 3) is a beginner / basic program for individuals who want to deepen this field. The purpose of this course is to produce basic skills, work techniques and proper attitudes in food preparation and production. After learning these basic skills, students will then acquire standard competencies which in turn can enter the job market particularly in the fields of hospitality, tourism and services. Students will be exposed to theoretical and practical skills

Programme’s objective:

  1. Provide intensive training in the field of food service and preparation;
  2. To produce knowledgeable and skilled students;
  3. Expose students to the food industry;
  4. Make the field of food service as a source of income/career prospects.

Malaysian Skills Certificate (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM)) Level 3 in Food Preparation and Production

Entry requirements:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Malaysian citizen.
  • Be 16 to 45 years of age.
  • Have no formal education, or possess a keen interest in the field and be able to read and write.
  • Alternatively, hold a Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) in one of the following:
    • Food Preparation and Production [I561-005-2:2022], or
    • Food Preparation and Production [HT-012-2:2012].
  • Be physically healthy.
  • Have no vision impairment or colour blindness.
  • Be able to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Applicants from the Special Education Integrated Programme (PPKI) are welcome, provided they are Persons with Disabilities (OKU) with high or moderate functional abilities.

Course Duration:

Level 2 & Level 3 – 18 months
Level 3 – 8 months
